What a great turnout for our first games of the season, with 8 players taking to the pitch for a three-way mini tournament against Andover and Haslemere HC.

Game 1 – Fareham v Andover
We dominated possession for large periods of the game and showed some really positive hockey, moving the ball well and creating opportunities. Unfortunately, we were caught out on the break a few times, with Andover taking their chances to win 3–1.

Game 2 – Fareham v Haslemere
Straight into our second game, the girls produced another fantastic performance against a very strong Haslemere side. It was a great game of hockey, with outstanding skills and play from both teams. The final score was 2–0 to Haslemere.

The two results really don’t reflect the games at all. The girls competed brilliantly, showed some excellent skills and decision-making, and there were plenty of positives to take into the season.

⭐ Player shout-outs this week go to Alice and Poppy for their outstanding play and, in particular, their excellent reading of the game and positioning. Fantastic work girls! ?

A big thank you to all the players and parents for your support and commitment. It was brilliant to see everyone back out there — onwards and upwards! ???
