Girls riding high in the League

Following the success of last weekend's appearance in the Hampshire finals, the girls moved back to their full pitch league fixtures. The season is coming to an end but the team have an action packed month with three games in three weeks.

Again, the weather was kind for the match - the sun was out to keep the players and spectators a little warmer than usual. The game got underway and from the outset, Fareham were looking to keep the play in the Trojans half. For a while the game was even but as it continued, Fareham's dominance in midfield started to show. The central pair of Izzy and Pippa started to make some deep drives into the Trojan's defence.

Fareham have been working hard on using their width and Zahra and Poppy did very well on the left and right wings respectively. Not to be outdone, the defence of Lois, Pheobe and Lilya did well against the occasional Trojans attacks.

Throughout the game, Fareham dominated the play and scored seven goals including an excellent deflection from Pippa. Trojans, late in the third period, scored with a goal mouth scramble that keeper Lauren couldn't quite get to.

Well played to all the players - a great win. Thanks to Tom for managing, Dave and Sam for umpiring and all the parents for supporting.

There is a chance that Fareham could repeat last year's league victory if they win the final two matches and other results go their way. Next week's match is home against Alton is at 1130
