Fareham Hockey Club is excited to announce that Charlie Cook (son of former 1XI Manager Nigel Cook) has been selected for the finalised England U16 Boys Squad!
Charlie (14) has been selected a year early for his age group following the rigorous selection process which started in September 2021. The 38 man training group was cut to just 26 (including 4 keepers) meaning competition was fierce.
A product of the Fareham Hockey Club academy set-up, Charlie has worked his way through our Junior Teams before making the step up to Adult Hockey and has recently began training with the M1's.
Club Chairman Colin Bradbury had this to say about the call up:
'Many congratulations to Charlie Cook on his selection for the England Under 16s announced this week. Hopefully this is just the beginning but we all know the amount of hard work and commitment Charlie has already put in.
I know everyone at the club wish him every success, the third generation of the Cook family to play for Fareham!'
We're looking forward to seeing Charlie in action in an England shirt with their season schedule culminating in an 8 Nation Tournament in Hamburg in July!
Congratulations Charlie, from everyone at Fareham Hockey Club!
