Challenge Cup vs Reading

Reading got off to a fantastic start and after 7 minutes an aerial ball from the half way line found their CF on the penalty spot, who slotted the goal in. A few minutes later Reading attacked through the midfield, manoeuvring the ball down the right and tapping in their 2nd goal. The boys didn’t get despondent and 10 minutes later Adam Shergold gained control and sped like a gazelle into the D, dispatching another accurate reverse shot into the goal! Half time 2-1 to Reading.

The second half started with Reading retaining control of the ball but Fareham got a decisive corner. The ball was slipped to the right for The Fergus to slot home. Yet again Fareham were on the comeback trail and with 5 minutes remaining another penalty corner was awarded to the boys. The ball was switched to the left this time and Adam Shergold flicked home his 3rd goal of the day! Final score 3-2.

Fareham win the Challenge Cup, but more than that it's a great way to start the season. Brilliant day all round topped off with cheesy chilli and jacket spuds!!
