Successful county players (and more)

Righto everyone 'good news' time from the Junior section again!!

Listed below are the successful county players (and more) from Fareham junior section.  Let's remember this is a process that starts in September and takes a great deal of effort (and considerable time and cost) from the players and their parents too.

We also should make mention of the players who were not successful this season, whilst committing the same effort.

Note: PC is Performance Centre, some selected players from u14's onwards continue training and cluster meetings for possible selection to Futures Cup

U13: Kiera Denham, Harriett Handley-Quint

U14: Pjay Watkins, Charlotte Mould, Jay Green, Noah Meysen (+ PC), Sam Ratliffe (+ PC), Dylan Coleman (+ PC)

U15: Lizzy Beardsall, Issy Chapman, Gracie Coleman (+ PC), Joe Caine, Rory Buckeridge ( + PC), Alex Beckett ( PC only), Austin Hardy (+ PC), Finn Coleman ( + PC), Alex Lambrianou ( + PC)

SWIFT START FOR FAREHAM U16 BOYS IN THE MERCIAN LEAGUE

Charlie Swift-Jeffrey scores twice for Fareham in this nail biting 4-3 win against Marlow away on Sunday 29th October

Fareham made a good start going 1-0 up early on with a well worked goal down the left finished on his reverse stick by Alex Ellison. Marlow pressed the Fareham defence but following work down the right Fergus Jackson broke through into the D beat 2/3 players and crossed for Charlie Swift-Jeffrey to flick over the Marlow keeper. Just before half time Marlow scored following a break from midfield and whilst stand in keeper Ben Randall saved the initial shot he could not get to the rebound. Second half Fareham started well and went 3-1 up after a break down the right and good interplay between Alex Ellison and Adam Shergold with Charlie Swift-Jeffrey finishing with a reverse stick shot. Marlow then pushed hard and Fareham defended resolutely but struggled to clear their lines and Marlow scored twice to tie things up at 3-3 with 15 mins to go. Fareham then steadied the ship and played some well controlled hockey, eventually Fergus Jackson converting a penalty corner with 3 mins to go to seal the win in a hard fought game.
