Fareham faced a tough challenge in seeing off mid-table Henley on Saturday. It didn't take long before Fareham took control when a Steve Lemon pass tore apart the Henley defence to put Kinder through whose first time shot was well saved by the keeper only for the rebound to fall into the path of Woody McInally who slotted into an empty net. Moments later Fareham went into a two goal lead when a sweeping move by Harper, Kinder and Peel was finished off by Peel. The third came mid way through the half with a textbook Peel drag flick. Towards the end of the half Fareham grabbed a fourth through Kinder who beat two men before crashing it past the keeper. Moments later Fareham lost any hopes of a clean sheet with a short corner rebound was dispatched by Aly Slay. Fareham came out into the second half expecting Henley to throw everything forward, but the Fareham defence dealt comfortably and Henley could find no way through. In a second half where possession was Fareham's main target neither team had any clear cut opportunities. The final 2 minutes bought controversy when Aly Slay took offence to a poor tackle by Lemon and swung a punch, Lemon for once thankful that he was the shortest player on the pitch as it found fresh air above his head. Slay received a deserved red card. In the confusion that followed Fareham Keeper Staniforth was also shown a red card for apparently swinging at a Henley player. Henley’s Rob Mortimer despatched the resulting short corner to make it 4-2. Fareham remain 5 points clear of nearest rivals Maidstone, and face a tough trip to Slough for their final match before the Christmas break.

Fareham travelled to bottom side Wimbledon, and perhaps as expected came back with a comfortable 5-0 win. The match started as a one sided affair and stayed that way throughout, with Fareham carving the early chances. It didn't take long for Fareham to make a break through when a ball into the D by Makaruk was deflected home by Johnny Kinder. Moments later Fareham doubled their lead with a routine drag flick from South African Craig Peel. Fareham's next attack resulted in another goal with Kinder beating two players before firing home. Things stayed the same until the second half, with Fareham missing chances to score more, although the game was never in any doubt. It took until late on before Fareham bagged a fourth with Rod O'Brien scoring a deflection, and with only minutes left Fareham grabbed a fifth through a well worked short corner which was dispatched by Danny Makaruk. Fareham are now top three points clear of second, but face a tricky trip to Kent next week, against Gore
Court.
Meanwhile an experienced Fareham 2’s had an impressive win against second place Holcombe. Fareham started the game the better of the two sides and their efforts were rewarded when Declan Colclough flicked home from a short corner. Fareham were soon two ahead when Ross Turnbull slotted home a Steve Lemon cross. Holcombe changed their tactics in the second half but they were still no match for Fareham who held on comfortably for a win which saw them rise to fourth place in the league.

Fareham started their league season, against close rivals Trojans, with an emphatic 6-3 win. The game started off a close affair with Trojans gaining the first opportunity to be saved by Staniforth. Mid way through the first half Fareham drew first blood with a short corner rebound desptached by Craig Peel on his reverse stick. It didn't stay at 1-0 for long with Trojans bouncing back with two quick goals by Hilton and Wiles to flip the game on its head. With the half drawing to a close Fareham grabbed an equiliser again through a superb reverse stick shot by Peel. The two sides went in at half time on a level footing. The second half started much the same as the first with a goal not being scored till 15 minutes into the second half when a well taken goal by Hilton edged Trojans in front. This goal seemed to spark life back into Fareham and added purpose into their attack with two goals added in quick succession, scored from a lob by Makurak and a back post finish by Kinder, this again turned the tie on its head in favour of Fareham. Trojans, though, did not come back this time and a further two goals were added my Stanton and Kinder in the closing stages to make it a comfortable finish and a final 6-3 scoreline.
